Discover the Power of Scite: A Top-rated Chrome Extension for News Aggregation

Online news reading has been revolutionized by a powerful tool in the Chrome extension store called Scite. This remarkable Chrome extension download is celebrated by users worldwide for its ability to enhance communication and streamline information acquisition via its unique Smart Citation feature. Scite has achieved an impressive aggregate rating of 4.43 out of 5, showcasing its effectiveness as a news aggregator app and its standing amongst the best Chrome extensions available today.

Why Scite is One of the Best Chrome Extensions for Online News Reading

One of Scite's most impressive features that contribute to its high user rating is its ability to provide context for each news citation. It does this by displaying whether the citation provides supporting or contrasting evidence. This feature not only enhances the user's news tracking ability but also allows them to better understand the reliability and context of the information they are consuming.

User Reviews: Understanding the High Rating of this Chrome Extension

Scite users have praised the Chrome extension for its ease of use and its effectiveness in increasing productivity during literature reviews. One user, Dmitriy Nikitin, highlighted how Scite has effectively increased his productivity during literature reviews. Another satisfied user, Birgit Schmidt, appreciated Scite's ability to assess the type of citations an article has received.

However, it's not all praise for Scite. Some users have expressed their concerns about its functionality. User Antoine Lemercier remarked that the extension no longer works on Chromium, which he found disappointing. Gervasio Montenegro, a linguistics/psychology researcher, also pointed out the extension's shortcomings in identifying supporting and contrasting citations accurately in his field of study.

Despite these criticisms, Scite continues to maintain its high rating in the Chrome Extension Store, reflecting its overall usefulness and effectiveness.

Recommendation: The News Aggregator App Worth Downloading

While Scite does have its limitations, its overall merits cannot be overlooked. Its ability to provide context to citations, combined with its user-friendly interface, makes it an invaluable tool for online news readers. If you are looking for a reliable news aggregator that goes beyond traditional news aggregators, then Scite is a worthy addition to your list of Chrome extensions.

what the hell is payment before starting free trial?

Msc Eco

Ineffective; read reviews, but discovered that payment is required upfront, even for the trial. A proper trial should allow users to experience the service first, and after 7 days, request banking information only if the user is satisfied with SCite.

Antoine Lemercier

Doesn't work on chromium anymore. Feel sad, that was helpful.

chrome 112.0.5615.138 cannot use scite

Gert van den Berg

Was useful, now way too expensive for someone that is using it to try to make sense science, without being paid to do so. It promised making it much easier to check how a paper was received, but now has the same paywall issues as many journals.

Neri Marsili

Maybe it is in my subfield (linguistics/psychology), but it gets everything wrong. It fails to identify most supporting and contrasting citation. When it classifies one as such, is oftentimes incorrect (e.g. the citation is not actually supportive) or misleading (e.g. a self-citation of previous research). Scite would be a really cool instrument; but at its current state, it does not seem to work for entire, massive fields of studies.

Dmitriy Nikitin

Very easy to use and helps increase productivity when doing literature reviews

Cenk Özbakir

Very useful
